Amazon Prime members will soon get special discounts at Whole Foods. Amazon’s acquisition of Whole Foods will close on Monday, and the companies say they will then lower the prices of many grocery items.

Over time, they say they will extend special discounts to Prime members. Now is a great time to sign up for Amazon Prime and get a free trial for 30 days or 6 free months if you’re a student.

Amazon and Whole Foods Market technology teams will begin to integrate Amazon Prime into the Whole Foods Market point-of-sale system, and when this work is complete, Prime members will receive special savings and in-store benefits.

Customers will enjoy lower prices on products like Whole Trade bananas, organic avocados, organic large brown eggs, organic responsibly-farmed salmon and tilapia, organic baby kale and baby lettuce, animal-welfare-rated 85% lean ground beef, creamy and crunchy almond butter, organic Gala and Fuji apples, organic rotisserie chicken, 365 Everyday Value organic butter, and much more.

Amazon also plans to make Prime the customer rewards program at Whole Foods and phasing out the current rewards program.

Products from Whole Foods’ private label, 365, will also be available on Amazon. The company hasn’t yet indicated a time frame for all the changes but you can count on saving money starting as soon as next week!
