Right now with Discover It you are earning a full 5% back at Sam’s Club plus another 5% online offer in Discover Deals. Put those two stackable offers together for this quarter and it’s hard to beat. I ordered a garage door opener from those links and cards.
Discover It is also bringing back the restaurants for the next quarter. This comes a quarter later than 2016 when we would already be saving 5% back on dining. We are surprised Chase Freedom has not mentioned any bonus yet for dining out.
Discover released a sneak peek at the 5% cash back bonus categories for July through December 2017. You’ll earn the bonus on everyday purchases at restaurants, Amazon, and more! (more…)
Discover Card has made many positive changes in the past year and now we are starting to blog about them again. If you think that Discover is outdated or not competitive with other banks you better think again. One news anchor reporting on Discover was shocked people still use Discover. Oh yes, there are many of us out there and we are getting cash back and loving it. The credit card company recently rolled out a new Travel Card and offer some great bonus cards that you do not see on many blogs mainly because they do not get a referral. Let’s start with a $50 bonus promotion card because we love a good sign-up offer. If you are not already a cardmember then you can get a <a< span=””>< span=””>< span=””> href=”https://refer.discover.com/s/fvd5x”>$50 Bonus by applying here.

Comparison Chart below that compares Blue Cash Everyday Card from AMEX, Chase Freedom, Capital One Quicksilver Cash Rewards, Citi Double Cash Card, and Bank Americard Cash Rewards to the Discover IT Card. You will notice that Bank Americard is among the worst according to Discover. Also, the Chase Freedom is pretty competitive and it also offers a sign-up bonus. I have both cards myself. On a personal note the Capital One Quicksilver is one of my favorite cards in my wallet because it gives 1.5x rewards and it actually does let you redeem for any amount and works well with Apple Pay.
5% Cashback Bonus on Restaurant and Movie purchases between April 1 and June 30 is my favorite thing about the card this coming quarter of 2015. Mainly because this normally counts as bars, restaurants, nightclubs, and fast food which I spend a a lot of money on when traveling. The up to $1,500 I will max out in a month and that will be a free $75 towards my statement. Don’t forget to sign-up now before the promotion starts or before you use your card at one of those establishments.

I have been embarrassed yet again by Discover Card holding up a checkout line at Whole Foods Market because they cannot seem to get Discover Card to work with their Apple Pay. This has happened twice now. The first time I got it to blink but it would not show up on the register as paid. It accepted my payment on my phone but not at the register and blinked. So odd. I then had the cashier transfer my transaction over to the customer service at the front of the store. It still would not work. I then called Discover Card to see if my card had a fraud alert on it. They acted like it should have worked and I had no fraud on my card so it was not on hold.
I used to be a big fan of Whole Foods and still love them more than Sprouts that sells food under the disguise that it’s natural. Sprouts takes the Apple Pay just fine though but I could do without the chemicals they put in their turkey. I really wish I could get this to work at Whole Foods and it’s frustrating. Especially since I drive 10 miles or so to get to Whole Foods. Target, Kroger and Walmart are closer and sell a lot of the same things now so I do not go there as often unless there’s a promotion like this one and that is why it’s such a big fail.
After the first embarrassment I thought I would try again a few weeks later thinking they had finally cleared up the problem. I went in my local Whole Foods tonight and it did not work again. Trying to get rewards or use coupons should not be this complicated especially at a high priced place such as Whole Foods. I have two Discover It cards and neither would work with the Apple Pay. It’s that time again to register for your cash back bonuses and with the final quarter of 2015 not much has changed with Discover credit cards 5% back. You will still get the 5% bonus on Amazon and you can add Chase Freedom to that list as well. This almost makes us think that Amazon is paying for this because they are surely getting us addicted to the 5% back with them instead of shopping at a local Target or Walmart.
Discover 5% Cash Rebate Categories from October to December 2015 include Amazon, Department Stores, and Clothing Stores. They started the year with Gas and Ground Transportation, then Restaurants and Movies, then featured Amazon, Department Stores, and Home Improvement Stores in the quarter that will end September 30. Read here on how you can score double cash back with Discover IT Cards.
Discover bank credit cards will be supported by Apple Pay starting September 16th, the same day as iOS 9 is released. The rewards pioneer is late to the game as it is finally joining Visa and MasterCard in the U.S. as supporting card types for Apple’s contactless payments service. To sweeten the deal, Discover is offering a special cashback promotion to celebrate the addition of Apple Pay. You can get 10% cashback on up to $10,000 of in-store purchases until the end of the year, as long as those transactions were using Apple Pay.
Discover it Miles, Miles and Escape cards will also earn an extra 10 miles per dollar as part of the promotion, again up to a $10,000 limit. Like other cards, using Apple Pay with Discover is seamless and automatic. You also get the same purchase and fraud protection with Discover on Apple Pay as when using a plastic card.
This is an amazing development just in time to buy something if not everything of the new Apple lineup everyone was so impressed with. You could basically get 20% off an Apple TV, new iPhone 6S or 6S Plus, Apple Watch, or the incredible new iPad Pro with a Pencil. If you signed up for a new Discover IT Card you can qualify for a DOUBLE cash back and that puts you at 10% cash back plus 10% bonus plus the normal 1% cash back totalling 21% cash back! Head here to get a $50 Bonus! (more…)
