Although I recently applied for the new Hyatt Visa card in my quarterly credit card application round-up the actual card I will be using at their hotel chain will be an American Express. You only get 3 points per dollar spend with the Hyatt branded card from Chase. With the American Express Simply Cash card you do not get a sign-up bonus at this time but you can get 8% back at Hyatt hotel stays.
You get 3% cash back when you use your SimplyCash Business Credit Card for U.S. lodging purchases, up to $25,000 per rebate year. You’ll also receive an extra 5% discount as a statement credit for each eligible dollar spent up to $10,000, per calendar year per Card Account with participating Hyatt Hotels & Resorts as part of the cards built-in OPEN Savings benefit. This equals a total of 8% savings on eligible spend at Hyatt hotels and resorts.
Having made this post I just realized that this is only for US hotels so that is good to know. Sometimes it takes rewriting the terms and conditions to fully understand some offers. I plan on using my Simply Cash card for Hyatt purchases in the US only and for international stays most likely the new Citi Preferred to give me 3x back.
