The Rakuten (formerly Ebates) cash back shopping network is currently offering a $10 Gift Card bonus when you open a new account and spend $25 or more at your favorite store. Plus, you can earn $75 when you refer 3 of your friends with the special Tell-A-Friend promotion. Ebates is one of the largest free cash back shopping portals that offers up to 25% in cash rebates when you shop online at over 1,500 brand-name stores and service providers. I’ve made over $800 using Ebates the past few years just because I click on their link before I make a purchase.
You only earn a $5 per referral normally but right now Ebates is giving you a $20 bonus for each of the first three referrals. This means that you will earn $25 for one referral, $50 for two or $75 for three. Even if you only refer one or two people this works out to be a great deal. The people your refer also get a $10 gift card as well so everyone wins. In order to earn your $10 Gift Card bonus, they must spend $25 or more from clicking on a link in their shopping portal. Lyft is doing its part to get people to the polls on Tuesday, November 8th.
The rideshare company is offering a 50% discount (up to $10) on Election Day to riders who use the code VOTE22.
The discount is for people who cite transportation issues as a barrier to voting. According to the company, an estimated 11.2 million older Americans have travel-limiting disabilities that make it difficult to leave home and 29% of young people said they didn’t vote because they didn’t have a ride.
“We believe that everyone’s voice – and vote – deserves to be heard, and transportation should never be a barrier,” said Lisa Boyd, Director of Social Impact at Lyft. “We’re thrilled to play a part in helping communities to the polls this Election Day.”
The code can only be used during voting hours.
The Offer
Lyft is offering 50% off one ride on election day with promo code VOTE22, up to $10 off.
Head over here for more election day specials including a $30 off from Grubhub.
Uber may match this as they offered a promo code in 2021 for voting at some locations.
All right, Swifties: Hit pause on Midnights for just one maybe a minute and check your wallet for a Capital One card.
On Tuesday morning, Taylor Swift announced the details of her highly anticipated nationwide tour next year: “The Eras Tour” kicks off in March 2023 and runs through early August. Thanks to the tour’s sponsorship from Capital One, eligible Capital one credit and debit cardholders will get exclusive, early access to presale tickets starting Tuesday, Nov. 15.
The presale begins Tuesday, Nov. 15 at 2 p.m. at each venue’s local time and runs through Thursday, Nov. 17 at 10 p.m. local venue time, or while supplies last. While pricing information isn’t available just yet, this is a chance for nearly all Capital One cardholders to snag the best deals or premium tickets before they’re released to the general public on Friday, Nov. 18.
Capital One cardholders will be required to use the first six digits of their Capital One card number as the promo code to gain access to the presale, and then must use their Capital One card to complete the purchase.
For more Capital One presale information, including all of the announced U.S. tour stops, head to www.taylorswift.com/events. International tour dates have not yet been announced.
What Capital One Cards Are Eligible for the Presale? Capital One says that The Eras Tour presale is open to all eligible U.S. Capital One Visa and Mastercard credit and debit cardholders. That means if you have a card like the Capital One Venture X Rewards Credit Card, the Capital One Venture Rewards Credit Card, among many others, you are set.
A Capital One spokesperson says that even those with co-branded credit cards like The Capital One Walmart Rewards Card are eligible. The only cards that don’t make the cut are private label cards that are issued through Capital One such as The Neiman Credit Card and others that aren’t explicitly co-branded by Capital One.
Bottom Line Taylor Swift is hitting the road next year with “The Eras Tour” kicking off in March 2023. And nearly all Capital One cardholders – including those with either the Capital One Venture X Rewards Credit Card or the Capital One Venture Rewards Credit Card, among many others – can get early, exclusive access to tickets for her concerts around the country.
The presale for Capital One cardholders begins Tuesday, Nov. 15 while supplies last. Mark your calendars!
U.S. Bank’s most higher earning rewards card has been the Cash Plus card where you can pick your own 5% categories. Now they are emailing consumers a preview of the new 6% back card at selected retailers right before the Holiday season.
With the new U.S. Bank Shopper Cash Reward Visa Signature Card “your one card for everywhere” you can select the retailer you want to earn 6% back. This would be great for anyone who spends at one retailer that is on the list. It doesn’t stop with that because it gives:
6% cash back on combined eligible purchases each quarter with two retailers you choose ($1,500 limit)
3% cash back on eligible purchases each quarter in your choice of one everyday category, like wholesale clubs, gas and EV charging stations, or bills and home utilities ($1,500 limit)
1.5% cash back on all other eligible purchases
This is significantly better than most rewards cards with the 1.5% back and 3% and 6%.
Cash+ from U.S. Bank Review : Pick your own categories for 5% and 2% back
One of my favorite cards from last year was the U.S. Bank Cash Plus Card which let us pick from two 5% categories each quarter and then an extra 2% back categories on top of that. The card has changed its terms since I first applied where it does not give you as many great choices to make the most cash back each quarter but it is still useful.
With the Cash+ Card you get 5% cash back on your first $2,000 in joint net purchases (purchases minus returns or credits) in your chosen 5% categories. Purchases over $2,000 earn 1% cash back. The 2% cash back is unlimited and all other net purchases earn 1% cash back.
February 18 was the first day to sign up for the next quarter 5% and 2% cash back. Register now to make sure the purchases made in your selected categories are eligible to earn 5% or 2% cash back between April-June 2015. The Cash+ card lets you pick from Gas Stations, Grocery Stores, and Restaurants for the 2% rewards. Pick one of those then go over to the 5% categories of “Select Clothing Stores”, Gyms/Fitness Centers, Fast Food, Furniture Stores, Car Rental, Charity, and Movie Theaters.
Notice that they included Restaurants in the 5% back group before but moved it to the 2% because people spend a lot at dine-in places such as Chili’s. They also include Pizza Hut as a 2% Restaurant instead of Fast Food. Not sure how that is possible but OK.
If you want this card for the Amazon 5% back included in bookstores that only includes Amazon Kindle Book purchases not on the main site. You may also be disappointed in the “select” clothing stores as that will not include online retailers such as Amazon.
As for Department stores included would be the following and their dot com counterparts: Bealls, Dillard’s, Soma Intimates, Belk, Macy’s, Tongass Trading Company, Bergner’s, Elder-Beerman, Von Maur, Bergners.com, Magic Mart, Bloomingdale’s, Getzs, Nordstrom, Weaver’s, Herberger’s, Nordstrom Rack, Younkers, Bon-Ton, Off 5th, Boscov’s, JcPenney, Parisian’s, Boston Stor, Kohl’s, Ruddy Duck, Saks Fifth Avenue, Carson’s, Larson’s Department Store, Loehmann’s and Sears.
The absolute worst category for most would be Movie Theaters which no one makes hardly anything back on but the credit card companies use this one as a feel-good type marketing ploy. You notice Chase and Discover banks also use this one often. Yes, while movie theaters are expensive with things like cola and popcorn the average person would make much more cash back on groceries and restaurants. The real everyday spending types of purchases.
My Cash+ Visa categories chosen consisted of 5% on Fast Food and 5% on Select Clothing Stores. I figured I would hit up clothing stores at the mall more than Department stores and I am sure everyone by now has a Macy’s retail card so you don’t need the Department store category. I choose 2% on Restaurants in case I hit up a Fast Food place thinking it’s in that category and it will at least get the extra 1% for a restaurant. Grocery stores I am already getting 6% Cash Back with an American Express Blue Preferred. The electronics stores does cover Apple Store but I buy most of my electronics from Amazon and it’s not included anywhere sadly.
When I first applied for this card it was a glorious piece of plastic. It shined in its beautiful blue design and saved me five percent on my favorite expense which is restaurants and dining. Come 2016, It’s dwindled down to one of the worst cards in my wallet. I am not even sure I want to use it anymore. I have done some trials where I have used it at fast food places such as Cowboy’s Chicken or Chipotle and neither register as a fast food establishment and instead code as restaurants getting me only 1% back instead of 5%.
When shopping for clothes it’s even more of a let down because it only considers a few handfuls of retailers part of that 5% and I wasted purchases with Guess! Jeans and Rue 21 which it did not count as their select clothing stores. I had called before I made the clothing charges and the reps said you just have to test it out but another rep read off several that I would never attempt to shop at so I think it’s time to tear up this joke of a card and quit wasting my time. Overall this is a mediocre card from U.S. Bank (just like every other card they offer) to have if you plan your spending strategy accordingly to maximize your cash earning power.
