Discover It is also bringing back the restaurants for the next quarter. This comes a quarter later than 2016 when we would already be saving 5% back on dining. We are surprised Chase Freedom has not mentioned any bonus yet for dining out.

I have been embarrassed yet again by Discover Card holding up a checkout line at Whole Foods Market because they cannot seem to get Discover Card to work with their Apple Pay. This has happened twice now. The first time I got it to blink but it would not show up on the register as paid. It accepted my payment on my phone but not at the register and blinked. So odd. I then had the cashier transfer my transaction over to the customer service at the front of the store. It still would not work. I then called Discover Card to see if my card had a fraud alert on it. They acted like it should have worked and I had no fraud on my card so it was not on hold.
I used to be a big fan of Whole Foods and still love them more than Sprouts that sells food under the disguise that it’s natural. Sprouts takes the Apple Pay just fine though but I could do without the chemicals they put in their turkey. I really wish I could get this to work at Whole Foods and it’s frustrating. Especially since I drive 10 miles or so to get to Whole Foods. Target, Kroger and Walmart are closer and sell a lot of the same things now so I do not go there as often unless there’s a promotion like this one and that is why it’s such a big fail.
After the first embarrassment I thought I would try again a few weeks later thinking they had finally cleared up the problem. I went in my local Whole Foods tonight and it did not work again. Trying to get rewards or use coupons should not be this complicated especially at a high priced place such as Whole Foods. I have two Discover It cards and neither would work with the Apple Pay. It’s that time again to register for your cash back bonuses and with the final quarter of 2015 not much has changed with Discover credit cards 5% back. You will still get the 5% bonus on Amazon and you can add Chase Freedom to that list as well. This almost makes us think that Amazon is paying for this because they are surely getting us addicted to the 5% back with them instead of shopping at a local Target or Walmart.
Discover 5% Cash Rebate Categories from October to December 2015 include Amazon, Department Stores, and Clothing Stores. They started the year with Gas and Ground Transportation, then Restaurants and Movies, then featured Amazon, Department Stores, and Home Improvement Stores in the quarter that will end September 30. Read here on how you can score double cash back with Discover IT Cards. (more…)
