Staples is not normally a place I would shop because they are so expensive compared to Walmart and Target. If I need office equipment such as a desk chair or a printer I would go over to Sam’s Club or Costco or probably look on Amazon. They do however offer some amazing targeted coupons via email and for some reason they love to send me $10 off $10 coupons which forces me to make a weekly trip to the retailer.
Just like CVS and Walgreens I get weekly coupons to Staples. Normally the CVS coupons are for 15 to 30% off in-store while the Staples are a guaranteed $10 off $10 per week. You can then go into a local Staples and buy something for $11 and just pay $1 using a printout or showing them the email’s linked barcode. I have done this over 15 times now and they are still sending me emails. I normally just buy a box of K-Cups that are priced at $11 then pay $1 because I normally do not need office supplies.
Sign-up for $10 off $10 Coupons in Your Email:
Just head over to the Staples.com site and sign-up for their rewards program and their weekly newsletter. We just delete all the emails that come that do not have the weekly $10 off coupon in them. You just look inside the email and it may have a headline such as this week’s from “staples@easy.staples.com” with the headline “Happy HP Savings Month! Your deals are waiting …” The deals are waiting part of the subject line may be what they normally use. Keep in mind that some weeks it is hard to tell what the email subject line will be related that will have the coupon inside so you have to check all of them. Update: We believe what causes this to start up in your email is to recycle ink cartridges then hopefully you will start seeing the $10 off $10 coupons in your email.
NEW! Text Message Promotion
This week it is a little different as they are doing some sort of text message promotion. If you Text Message: EXCLUSIVE to 555444 you can get a $10 off $10 coupon sent to you. If you’ve already been on the Staples text list you can’t get the coupon. They’ll text you a link to the coupon after you subscribe. Coupon expires 2 weeks from when you get it. Valid in store, online, or by phone.

Amazon’s Echo is getting a touchscreen and many new features. The online retailer introduced the Echo Show featuring a 7-inch touchscreen and dual 2-inch stereo speakers. It can also do everything that an Alexa-powered device can do right now, including access third-party skills, tell you the forecast, set a timer, and play music. The Echo Show is available for pre-order in black or white and will start shipping on Wednesday, June 28.
Right now if you buy two of them and enter the code SHOW2PACK at checkout, you’ll activate a special $100 discount. So you’ll get two new Echo Shows for the price of two standard Echos. Go in on this deal with a friend, or buy a few for yourself (they work very well in multiple rooms). Echo Show brings you everything you love about Alexa, and now she can show you things.
Watch video flash briefings and YouTube, talk with family and friends (if they have Echos as well), see music lyrics, security cameras, photos, weather forecasts, to-do and shopping lists, and more. All hands-free—just ask. Select two-day shipping when you checkout, and Amazon says you’ll have it the very day it’s released. Read More ▶ (more…)
by PointsGuru | May 9, 2017 | 5% Cash Back, Discover, Restaurants
Update: See 2019 Bonus 5% Categories!
Right now with Discover It you are earning a full 5% back at Sam’s Club plus another 5% online offer in Discover Deals. Put those two stackable offers together for this quarter and it’s hard to beat. I ordered a garage door opener from those links and cards.
Discover It is also bringing back the restaurants for the next quarter. This comes a quarter later than 2016 when we would already be saving 5% back on dining. We are surprised Chase Freedom has not mentioned any bonus yet for dining out.
Discover released a sneak peek at the 5% cash back bonus categories for July through December 2017. You’ll earn the bonus on everyday purchases at restaurants, Amazon, and more!

by PointsGuru | May 5, 2017 | Chase Cards
There are many banks and credit unions to get your miles, points, and cash back from. If you want to maximize your points and miles you better start the right way especially because some banks count applications against you. The one bank in general with some of the best credit cards is Chase bank.
Chase knows they monopolize some of the hottest credit cards and we actually broke news back in the day they came out with the Freedom Card before any other site. It’s been one of the best cards of all-time with the quarterly bonuses. What Chase does is limit your approval based on how many cards you’ve applied for in the past with the “5/24 rule.”
We recommend you apply for a Chase Credit Card first before any other card because of the strict rule they mandated over a year ago. Grab a few Chase Cards then as soon as they accept you go for the gold with all the other fantastic cards on the market such as Discover It.
What does 5/24 rule mean?
It’s more of a credit card insider term meaning they typically won’t approve you for some of their cards if you’ve opened more than five accounts in the past 24 months. The following cards are subjected to this rule:
